What’s the secret to driving consistent home builder website traffic and leads everyday, week after week, month after month?
Creating daily results requires daily action. Fortunately, driving new visitors to your website can be simple and done in under an hour per day.
Here’s how:
First, establish a benchmark.
How much average daily traffic do you currently receive on your website? Use a tool such as Google Analytics to gather the total traffic for the last three months and divide by 90. This will tell you your average daily traffic. (Using a three month average gives you a more accurate picture of recent traffic by averaging high and low months.)
Second, set a goal.
Setting daily traffic goals can help you determine how well your marketing is working. By combining daily traffic goals with a strong website opt-in conversion strategy, you can create a consistent flow of new sales leads to work with every week. To start, use your current benchmark and set a goal for a realistic increase that you can achieve this week. For example, if your average daily traffic is 15 per day, set a goal to get to 20 per day in the next week. Increase your daily traffic goal each week.
Third, check your conversion.
No amount of traffic will sell more homes without a clear strategy to convert visitors to web leads. There are four primary forms of home builder website conversion: email opt-in, Facebook opt-in, blog subscriber, and Twitter follower. If you do not have a home builder blog or are not currently using Twitter, focus on email and Facebook. Along with your daily traffic goal, set a conversion goal. An example would be to convert 5% of your average daily traffic as new leads each day. Using the above example of 20 for a daily website traffic goal, this would result in one new lead per day. As your traffic increases each week, your sales leads will also.
Fourth, create a daily content strategy.
This doesn’t have to be complicated, just consistent. You may already be using these tools, but by focusing on a daily output and consistent schedule you will grow your new leads each week.
Your plan might look like this:
Mondays – SEO Press Release, Post to Facebook, Spend 15m engaging on Twitter
Tuesdays – Email Your Database, Post to Craigslist, 15m Twitter
Wednesdays – Email weekly inventory and specials to your brokers, Post to Facebook, 15m Twitter
Thursdays – Blog Post, Post to Craigslist, 15m Twitter
Fridays – Post to Facebook, 15m Twitter
Saturdays – Post to Craigslist, 15m Twitter
If you do not currently have a home builder blog or are not active on Twitter, even one output per day via database email, Craigslist, Facebook, and online PR can yield daily results.
Although your daily traffic will vary, by creating and maintaining a consistent output schedule you gain greater control over your results and a more consistent flow of new sales leads.
